Mini-Mooning in Mykonos

Mykonos Grand Hotel

Sooo… I have been busy of late!

After our glorious wedding in Norfolk, where the sun shone and fun, love and laughter was had with friends and family, we packed our bags  and whisked ourselves to the island of Mykonos.

One thing you must know about me. I love Greece.

I love the people, i love the weather and more importantly…i LOVE the food!

I had never been fortunate enough to go to the island of Mykonos, so a 5 day mini moon seemed in order.

We stayed in Mykonos Grand Hotel. Its perfect. beautiful sea views, lovely restaurants and has a free 10 minute shuttle that takes you into Mykonos town that runs until midnight.

We landed late afternoon, still exhausted from our wedding weekend, we decided to stay and explore the hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted with a sparkling greek wine (a little too sweet for my taste, but i’m not going to say no….) and a tour of our new home.

We sat, drank and admired our breathtaking view before heading down for supper.

A private dinner, just for the two of us on the beach with our very own waiter!

Salmon Sashimi for me, lobster risotto for him.

Both divine!

We watched the sunset over a chilled carafe of the local good stuff and soaked in our surroundings.

With our tummies full, we strolled along the moonlit beach, kicking off our flip flops for a cheeky midnight dip!

The next day, after breakfast and a swim we decided to explore Mykonos Town.

Mykonos Windmills

A trip to the windmills is a must! It gets pretty busy at sunset though as it offers perfect views over the sea and the whole town seems to descend here.

We decided to watch from the piano bar in Little Venice, still an awesome view, but far less crowded!

We then grabbed a bite to eat, but i’l tell you more about that tomorrow!
